About Transport Means

23rd international scientific conference TRANSPORT MEANS 2019 will be held on 2-4 October, 2019 in HOTEL GABIJA, Palanga (Lithuania), Vytauto str. 40.

Session “Waterborne Transport” will be held on October 4 in Klaipėda University, Klaipėda, Bijūnų Str. 17.

It continues long tradition and reflects the most relevant scientific and practical problems of transport engineering.
The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for discussion, interactions and exchange among researchers, industries and engineers.
The reports cover a wide variety of topics related to the most pressing issues of today’s transport systems development.

The main areas covered in plenary session and in the sections are: design development, maintenance and exploitation of transport means, implementation of advanced transport technologies, development of defense transport, environmental and social impact, advanced and intelligent transport systems, transport demand management, traffic control, specifics of transport infrastructure, safety and pollution problems, integrated and sustainable transport, modeling and simulation of transport systems and elements.

Excursion in Palanga Amber Museum

The Palanga Amber Museum, near the Baltic Sea in Palanga, Lithuania, is a branch of the Lithuanian Art Museum. It is housed in the restored 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace and is surrounded by the Palanga Botanical Garden. The museum’s collection of amber comprises about 28,000 pieces, of which about 15,000 contain inclusions of insects, spiders, or plants. About 4,500 pieces of amber are exhibited; many of these are items of artwork and jewelry.

Excursion in Cold War Museum

Cold War Museum is located in the former Soviet Union`s complex of ballistic missile silo launch. Since 1963 up to 1978, there had been deployed four medium- range ballistic missiles SS-4, armed with 2- megaton power thermonuclear warheads. These missiles, together with the nearby terrestrial platforms of analogue missile launching, had created a common Soviet nuclear armament group in Lithuania, which was able to destroy all the Europe.
